THE FLIEGENLIED
(Philip Kaufmann)

High over broadland
Flying free
Bathing in blue light
Nothing´s bothering me

A still ocean to starboard
And a desert so dry
The ocean is shrinking
And the desert´s so wide

Strange creatures are crawling
On the soft sand down there
Rolling and tumbling
On their way to nowhere

While I keep on flying
Over trees with no leaves
Animals and monsters
Like the ones of Dalí

It might all be gone
In a few year´s time
But it´s now and it´s mine
And it´s peace of mind

Diving into the waters
Down to the ground
To the calm alga forests
Where the flamesucker ´s found

Swaying to the rhythm of life
Like an everlasting dance
I´m not a hunter
I´m a traveller in these lands

It might all be gone
In a few year´s time
But it´s now and it´s mine
And it´s peace of mind
